Objective:
Create a set of 5–7 questions that could be used in one-on-one discussions with an apprentice to assess their potential and identify any non-traditional talents they may have. Consider both work-related skills and life experiences that could reveal hidden strengths.

Tips for the assignment:

  • Focus on questions that allow apprentices to explain their experiences in their own words. Open-ended questions will lead to richer, more detailed responses.
  • Recognize that apprentices may have valuable life experiences from family, hobbies, or volunteer work that can reveal important talents.
  • Everyone has faced challenges, whether in life or at work. By focusing on how someone has solved problems, you can identify creative thinking and resilience.
  • Asking about learning experiences can provide insight into how the apprentice approaches challenges and self-improvement.
