is conceived as a transnational cooperation project between 5 partners from 4 countries, aimed at promoting social inclusion in the field of VET, raising VET’s attractiveness and boosting innovation, by enhancing the outreach of and the support provided by the business involved in work-base learning (WBL) to apprentices with fewer opportunities and from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Objectives
The main objectives we wish to achieve through the implementation of the INCLUSIVE APPRENTICESHIPS project are:
-To develop and apply in practice an innovative multilingual, free of charge and open access training programme for VET company mentors across Europe on how to work with apprentices with fewer opportunities and from disadvantaged backgrounds;
-To directly support the professional development of 120 VET company mentors from Romania, Austria and Bulgaria by equipping them with the knowledge and skills to effectively support apprentices with fewer opportunities and from disadvantaged backgrounds;
-To create evidential basis for the effectiveness of the INCLUSIVE APPRENTICESHIPS overall approach to raising the attractiveness of VET by making it more relevant to the needs of the whole society.
Project Results
The project will achieve the following results:
-INCLUSIVE APPRENTICESHIPS Training Programme: multilingual self-paced distance learning course for company mentors involved in WBL, with focus on addressing the specific needs of fewer opportunities and disadvantaged apprentices during the in-company training part of the VET programme they are enrolled in;
-INCLUSIVE APPRENTICESHIPS E-learning Platform: a multilingual OER ensuring free open access and delivery of the training programme and multiplying the results and impact from the project during and after its end;
-International Online Multiplier Event for 100 participants to share and promote the results and achievements of the project;
-120 VET company mentors from three European countries with enhanced competences on how to support fewer opportunities and disadvantaged apprentices (impact on at least 240 apprentices);
-3 focus groups with external VET stakeholders to validate the relevance and applicability of the training;
-3 case studies providing evidential basis for the effectiveness of the INCLUSIVE APPRENTICESHIPS approach to fostering social inclusion and raising the attractiveness of VET
Target Groups
The project is targeting apprentices and those delivering the in-company training part of the apprenticeships. With the focus being on the company-based experience, the target groups of the INCLUSIVE APPRENTICESHIPS project are:
-Company mentors in dual VET context involved in delivering the practical work experience at the workplace (referred to as “company mentors”)
-Learners with fewer opportunities or from disadvantaged background enrolled onto apprenticeship schemes through dual VET schemes in initial VET (referred to as “apprentices”).
