Module 10: Measures and support to directly boost fewer opportunities and disadvantaged apprentices’ employability

Text lesson

Lesson 10.3: Addressing Barriers to Employment

Work with the apprentice to identify potential barriers they may face in securing employment. Define clear and structured goals to help the apprentice address and overcome these problems.

Example:

  • Barrier identification: conduct a thorough assessment to identify specific barriers each apprentice faces, whether they relate to skills, education, financial issues, or personal challenges.
  • Personalised plan: develop a tailored support plan that addresses these barriers. This plan should outline actionable steps and resources needed to overcome each challenge.
