Sources of information about people with fewer opportunities include participation in activities addressing their needs (16.7%), participation in conferences and oral presentations (14.3%), educational trips (13.9%), European Union websites (13.6%), web-based materials (12.8%), and surveys (10.8%). At the same time, the main ways to reach these young people are through “Relevant motivational actions” and “Information/awareness campaigns.” However, it appears that organizations/institutions did not have a concrete strategic plan to include people with fewer opportunities.
The finding that organizations lacked a concrete strategic plan is reinforced by the conclusion that projects met the needs of participants at less than 50%. These projects were implemented by organizations aiming to engage young people with fewer opportunities. In contrast, preparatory supporting measures seemed to have better results.
The survey result showed that the participating organizations do not hire many young people with fewer opportunities in their activities. Additionally, to further explain this survey outcome, it is worth mentioning that the young people with fewer opportunities who were hired by the participating organizations were at most only one individual.
The lack of a strategic plan by organizations to reach young people with fewer opportunities highlights the need to create such a plan to increase the participation rate of people with fewer opportunities in programs.
It is important to mention that young people participated in one activity, and a significant portion of them expressed a desire to take part in more than one activity. Therefore, they were interested in the various activities already being implemented but were unable to participate in them.
It is worth noting that organizations used more than one approach method. This can be seen from the results, which are not extreme for any particular method. Therefore, although there was a relatively wide range of methods, they were quantitatively or qualitatively insufficient to reach a significant portion of young people with fewer opportunities.
Finally, it was found that despite all the positive experience of the young people, they were not supported in finding employment. This fact shows the need for better organization of skills and their improved presentation in Europass (which can contribute with its qualifications in job searching), to have a corresponding impact on the labor market. Europass is a European Union tool for qualifications, skills, and how they can be understood throughout Europe in the context of European mobility.
